This is a critical issue, as it means that valuable time and resources are being spent on tasks that don't contribute to the overall security of the organization. The problem is further exacerbated by the fact that only 19% of respondents trust threat intelligence to tell them what to fix first, and only 8% would trust AI to make security decisions without human approval. This lack of trust in threat intelligence and AI is a major concern, as it suggests that organizations are struggling to translate data into clear, actionable priorities. The issue is not just about the volume of data, but also about the quality of that data. As Julien Richard, CTO at Filigran, points out, "Organizations have access to more security data than ever before, but turning that information into action remains difficult." This is a critical problem, as it means that organizations are not able to effectively use the data they have to improve their security posture. The study also found that boards are increasingly focused on AI-driven threats and organizational preparedness to tackle such issues. Cybersecurity professionals remain cautious about the use of AI for decision-making, and only 28% of respondents described their organization as having a continuous, proactive exposure management program in place. This suggests that there is a significant amount of work to be done to ensure that AI is used effectively and efficiently in cybersecurity.
